IMPRESSIVE VENUES
State of the Art Facilities
Thailands outstanding meeting
facilities and industry expertise
have helped to make it into one of
the worlds leading Meeting,
Incentive, Convention and Exhibition
destinations.
In recent years these facilities
have been further supplemented by
the development of purpose-built
venues such as the Queen Sirikit
National Convention Center (QSNCC)
which was opened to host the 1991
World Bank/IMF Conference.
The centre has subsequently been
chosen as the venue for numerous
prestigious events.
In 1997 Bangkok added another
important venue with the opening the
Bangkok International Trade and
Exhibition Centre (BITEC), South
East Asias largest column-free
meeting facility. Schedule for
further expansion in the coming
years, BITEC has already received
high praise from international event
organisers.
At the time of writing another
50,000 square metre exhibition
centre planned in the north of
Bangkok.
Outside of Bangkok a number of
smaller but significant venues are
currently available or under
construction.
The Royal Exhibition And Convention
Hall (REACH), a 5,000 square metre
sea-front venue is due to open in
Pattaya in November 1999, providing
a major facility for this important
MICE destination.
Similar venues in the northern
capital of Chiang Mai and on the
southeast island of Phuket are also
proposed.
These complexes are complemented by
a wide choice of smaller venues in
Bangkok and its environs and in the
main provincial capitals, all
ideally suited to smaller events and
meetings.
A wealth of industry experience
exists in Thailand, with the country
having hosted numerous major and
prestigious events over the years,
including the first Society of
Incentive Travel Executives (SITE)
University to be held outside of the
United States.
Most major Travel Companies in
Bangkok have specialist MICE experts
on their teams. Within this guide
you will find a selection of
hand-picked hotels that can
accommodate your event.
